FAQs
For our exercise classes
What is the difference between ‘Yoga’ and ‘Therapeutic Yoga’?
While both Yoga and Therapeutic Yoga sound similar, the key difference between the two is that Therapeutic Yoga can only be taught by a yoga therapist with the knowledge of a specific problem, experience, and intuition to help alleviate the problem or pain condition (whether it’s physical, mental, and/or spiritual). Yoga Therapist focus on their clients’ needs and may sometimes use different physical tools than traditional approach such as dowels, leg weights, and even gym balls.
How can Therapeutic Yoga help manage chronic pain?
Our Yoga Therapist can assist with managing and treating chronic pain, and recovery from injury or surgery. This is done in a systematic approach commencing with the pre-class assessment by Physiotherapist to assess client’s pain condition and establish appropriate goals, develop a practice intervention, and then teach clients to practice that intervention.
What do I need to do to be able to attend a class?
We require every client to undergo ‘Pre-Class Assessment’ prior to attending the first class and then after at least once in a year. This 30-minute assessment involves your musculoskeletal assessment including previous injury (if any) to determine the best workout for your ability level and goals.
The cost of this assessment is claimable under your Private Health Fund if you have extras covered. Rebate amount will depend on your Health Fund and level of cover. This assessment is necessary for tailor made treatment for each individual by our physiotherapist.
How much is a class?
The cost of both Physiofusion Flow and Therapeutic Yoga is $25 per class and they run for an hour. These classes are also claimable by Private Health Fund if you are paying for an ‘extras cover’. Check what your Private Health Fund covers before booking your appointment.
